We formed strangeday formed in the year 2000. Originally consisting of Aaron, Ally, Paul and myself, we asked Aj to join in 2012. I’ve always been a reasonable rhythm guitarist, but we played a gig with Aj and it was clear that a. he smashed me out of the park and b. I enjoy singing a lot more when I don’t have to worry about doing it whilst playing electric guitar.
It’s been enormous fun being a part of strangeday, and we’ve had some great opportunities and are enormously privileged to have done what we have done and been where we’ve been. That said, it has also been frustrating at times too. Due to the way our lives overlap we’ve had a lot of periods where we haven’t all been in the same place – geographically and metaphorically – which means we haven’t done as much as we would have liked to.
Still, we released three demos, an album and five singles. And we’re still sitting on around six songs in various states of being finished, plus three b-sides from the album and three or four mostly written but unrecorded songs. Watch this space I guess.
